5 Tips For Narrowing Down Wedding Venues

Finding your perfect wedding venue is a tedious task and can become overwhelming, very fast. There are many important variables to consider when choosing the wedding venue that is right for you.

| Here are five things you must consider when choosing your wedding venue |

1. Keep your Budget in mind

Staying within your determined budget is necessary during the wedding planning process. Most couples have no idea what their wedding budget will be until they start looking for their wedding venue. Be sure to eliminate any spaces that aren't within your budge or can not accommodate your needs.  Reaching too far will only lead to stress for everyone involved or compromising your vision. Stay realistic and only visit venues that you can afford.

2. Confirm the Capacity

It is important to come up with an estimated guest count before booking a venue. Double check that the venues on your list are capable of accommodating your guest count and a little extra (just to be safe) Many venues offer different on-site locations that can make things confusing for couples that don't know what spaces are included in their rental fee. Always double check with venue coordinators to make sure all of your guests can comfortably sit for dinner and that there are no extra fees tied to maximum and minimum capacities.

3. Decide on the Location

The location of a venue is very important to consider when booking. Whether the location is important to you and your significant other or if all of your guests are traveling, the possibilities are endless.

For many couples, it is important that the location they select is easy for their guests to get to.

There are many travel logistics to keep in mind: traffic, driving directions, accommodations for guests and wedding party, parking, etc.

Whether Factor: Confirm that the venue you select has a PLAN B  location if you choose to have an outdoor wedding.

Certainly do not settle for a venue just because it is close to a hotel. Do your research, find a place that fits with everything your want for your wedding day.

4. Review the venue Restrictions

Many venues have restrictions for what is and is not allowed. Be sure to review their decor restrictions before signing the contract and spending half your budget on open flame candles.  If there are non-negotiable items on your wedding vision list, be sure that the venue you choose allows them.

5. Be Vigilant about Catering & Vendors

Many raw space venues have a list of preferred vendors. Many couples neglect to check on these limitations when booking their venue. Ensure that you can afford any vendors on the list the venue provides! Checking the prices of these vendors before booking the venue is always in your best interest. Also, be aware that some venues charge a fee for bringing in outside vendors.  Read all venue requirements and contracts very carfully. We recommend printing venue information and highlighting the important details to double check that the venue and vendor fees will fit in your budget.
