Many couples use the terms wedding planner and wedding coordinator interchangeably but they actually serve very different roles throughout the planning process.
A wedding planner is involved in the overall strategy, logistics, and decision-making leading up to the wedding. From vendor recommendations and timeline creation to budget guidance and design support, planners help shape the entire experience from start to finish.
A coordinator, on the other hand, typically steps in much closer to the wedding date to manage final details and oversee execution on the actual wedding day. Their role is focused more on implementation than long-term planning.
The right fit ultimately depends on the level of support you need, how complex your wedding is, and how much of the planning you want to manage yourselves.
